WESG America’s regional LAN finals from Sao Paolo, Brazil will commence tomorrow, October 21 with only eight teams attending the event after the unfortunate withdrawal of the NA and Canadian squads.
Despite losing four teams at once due to the strike of Brazilian embassies and consulates within the territory of USA and Canada, WESG America’s regional finals will continue with the planned group stage ahead of the single elimination playoffs bracket. The eight teams remaining to compete have been split in two groups of four and will play each other in a round robin format for the top three places in their respective group.
WESG - Sao Paolo Regional LAN Finals has to offer six slots into the $1.5M Global Grand Finals from China along with a ?1,364,000 (~$202,000) prize pool split between the all eight participants.

The LAN event will be held across three days, October 21-23 at the Mega Arena X5, situated in Sao Paulo, Brazil with competitions for Dota2, CS:GO, Hearthstone and StarCraft2.
Onsite commentary for Dota 2 will be delivered by Treephob 'Xyclopz' Tiangtrong, Gareth 'Durka' Bateson and Lyn-Feng 'Lysander' Lim. The entire event will be broadcast by Starladder on Twitch.tv.
