For their fifth season, Dota Pit chose to grant only two invites to the main event while they prepare a top-notch qualifier stage featuring some of the best teams world-wide.
Set to take place January 20-22 in Split, Croatia, at the Spaladium Arena near year, Dota Pit Season 5 features only two directly invited teams, Wings Gaming and Digital Chaos, the winners and runners-up of The International 2016 respectively.
With six spots left to be filled for the main event, the regional qualifiers are planned to commence this month, but the exact date hasn’t been confirmed yet. However, the cast of participating teams is an impressive one. Europe and CIS will have a total of three teams qualified for the main event while China, North America, and SEA will each have one spot.
A total of 18 teams have been invited to fight for their spot in the Dota Pit 5 main event, and six more are joining them from the open qualifiers. The regional qualifiers will be held in a GSL group stage format with winners of each group claiming a ticket for the LAN finals.
