Game recaps:

Lower bracket: (BO3)

Newbee vs Liquid (1-2): In one of Liquid's best performances yet, the series had NewBee consistently trying to come back in all three games. NewBee got off to a horrendous start in all three games and only managed to turn around game one after 50 minutes of struggling and several lucky pick-offs. After game one, the luck of the Chinese ran out as Liquid abused NewBee's lack of lock down in game two, finishing it in 17 minutes, and in game three, Lasse 'Matumbaman' Urpalainen's Anti-mage crushed NewBee.

Alliance vs Fnatic (0-2): Fnatic had quite the smooth series as they were able to resist Alliance's momentum either through their own play or Alliance's mistakes. Fnatic opted for a slow game one, choosing to secure farm on their Sven through space creation and a series of track kills. Things looked even until a snatched Roshan kill and Aegis put the nail in the coffin for Alliance. In game two, Alliance got off to a hot start, and procured a 10k gold lead 20 minutes into the game, but a few mistakes and team wipes later, it  was Fnatic who was knocking on their front door.

Upper bracket: (BO3)

EG vs EHOME (2-0): Once again, EG delivered an epic series. Game one looked to be a one-sided stomp by EHOME until the Chinese team tried going for a set of Barracks. EG held with plays and superb teamwork, forcing EHOME to take a passive play-style revolving around Roshan timings. This b ought time for the boys in blue, but they eventually gave away mega-creeps in a fight of epic proportions, featuring several buy backs on both side. But EG did not waver and found a team wipe on EHOME when their cores did not have buyback, allowing EG to come back and take the throne. In the second game, EHOME tried to take control of the game again but failed in the face of EG’s draft due to its counter-initiation and defensive potential.

Wings vs MVP.P (0-2): MVP.P played the hyper aggressive style that they have done many times before and Wings answered with skill. In game one, Wings matched the kills they were giving up to MVP.P by taking towers, this solution to MVP.P’s style lasted until they slipped up, giving Wings the momentum needed stem MVP.P’s aggression. Game two had roughly the same flow, with Wings playing reserved before making MVP.P regret making an error.
