Update: The pre-TI visa fiasco

With The International 6 starting in five days, some teams are still struggling with visa issues. Among the struggling teams is wild card contender, Execration.

The International 6's wild card qualifiers will be starting in less than five days, but the SEA qualifiers runner-up team, Execration, has yet to receive news on their visa application. In addition to Execration, fellow Filipino team TNC and Chinese team VG.Reborn are also facing visa issues. Meanwhile, EHOME and LGD have found solutions to their visa issues and have started their road to TI6.

EHOME's situation:

Following their coach 71's pleas for help after the rejection of Chen 'Cty' Tian Yu's visa from last year, the team had no problems this year, and are now with a revamped roster on their way to Seattle where they have to fight for a Main Event spot via Wild Card qualifiers.

LGD's situation:

Unfortunately for this directly invited team, they will not be participating in TI6 with their full main roster as their fourth position player failed to obtain a visa in time. Xue 'September' Zhi Chuan's visa was rejected for the fourth time on the 25th of July. With regards to this issue, LGD has requested to have Wang 'Banana' Jiao, their substitute player, replace September for TI6. The team will be departing for Seattle on the 30th of July.

VG.Reborn's situation:

Little information has been made public about VG.Reborn's offlaner's visa issues. The limited information available on VG.R's coach Tong 'Mikasa' Jun Jie's Weibo suggests that Yang 'Yang' Zhou Hai's third visa attempt was rejected on the 22nd of July and that a fourth attempt has been initiated. Yang is said to have received word on his fourth visa attempt on the 26th, but no reports of the answer have surfaced as of writing.

TnC and Execretion:

Conflicting advice from Valve and the US embassy set the stage for the visa issues faced by these two teams. Due to this, the teams were required to re-submit their visa applications, resulting in their tense situation of waiting. Both teams are working with Valve and senator Benigno Paolo 'Bam' Aquino, a well-known supporter of eSports in the Philippines, to resolve their current situation.
