Evil Geniuses eliminated from SL i-League StarSeries by FRIENDS

In the second series of the day, FRIENDS sent EG home at end of three games and a spectacular base race.

Game One

The first game opened with Batrider and Io picks from the FRIENDS squad while EG took their opponents by surprise as they placed Syed 'Sumail' Hassan on Oracle and Ludwig 'Zai' Wåhlberg on Timbersaw offlane. The American team were getting much more out of the early game, managing to win all three lanes. FRIENDS tried to put their draft in action, abusing the Batrider - Io- Ember Spirit combo as much as they could, and hunted Zai's Timbersaw all over the map. Even though EG destroyed the T3 tower bottom lane, FRIENDS fought back and pushed the boys in blue out of their base.

The situation drastically changed for the Russians as they took a huge team fight around minute 24, Slark coming out with three kills under his name and bringing FRIENDS back into the game. EG tried to take advantage of their map control and illusion army created by Peter 'PPD' Dager's Shadow Demon and Clinton 'Fear' Loomin's Manta Style, but FRIENDS weren't ready to give up yet and wiped three EG heroes off the face of the map and forced them to retreat. The game became harder and harder for the Americans as Slark and Ember Spirit continued to excel in items and experience. After EG took Roshan around the 37 minute mark, FRIENDS forced out a winning team fight and took the game one victory.

Game Two

Looking to ride their momentum, FRIENDS opted again for the Batrider - Io combo, adding Queen of Pain and Luna, looking to complete a draft with tons of burst damage. EG drafted Shadow Demon again, this time giving Summail the Ancient Apparition mid lane. Sergey 'G' Bragin's Queen of Pain gave away First Blood shortly after the first minute mark, allowing Zai to rotate early with his Nightstalker. Although FRIENDS focused on a draft consisting of huge burst damage, all eyes were on Saahil 'Universe' Arora's Faceless Void, capturing the enemy team in spectacular Chronosphers, followed by Summail's Ice Blast.

G's got shut down early, thus his Orchid Malevolence came in too late and the Russians were unable to kill Fear's Weaver. Around the 26 minute mark, FRIENDS were trying to keep the lanes pushed, but during a fight top lane they lost four heroes, giving away more kills to EG. As a last ditch effort, the Russian squad pressured top lane, but end up losing all their heroes, EG winning game two and pushijg FRIENDS into a decisive game three.

Game Three

Having learnt from game one and two, EG took out Batrider and Io, picking Mirana and Riki, as FRIENDS aimed for map control, drafting Beastmaster. When Legion Commander got her level six, EG managed to find kills all over the map, catching the Alchemist off guard as many times as possible, shutting down his farm. Minute 17 found EG taking Roshan for themselves, but FRIENDS contested their action, taking down the over farmed Legion Commander. However as the game progressed, EG trapped FRIENDS into their base, using only illusions to keep the lanes pushed.

As the game reached the late stage, EG found it more and more difficult to push the Russian base as FRIENDS were winning their way back into the game with Alchemist. The match ended with EG stuck in their base, only sending Mirana and Lycan to quickly destroy the opponents Ancient, while FRIENDS devoured the American squad by knocking down the Radiant Ancient faster and winning the series.
