Fnatic take down Digital Chaos at SL i-League StarSeries

With SL i-League StarSeries Season 2 heading toward its culmination soon, Digital Chaos and Fnatic found themselves in a best of three lower bracket elimination match-up, to see who would progress forward in the LAN event and who would be heading home early.

Game One

The first three minutes started off with a lot of action in the top lane as DC claimed three kills with their tri-lane line-up. By ten minutes, Fnatic had managed to slow the game down a little and brought the score line a little bit closer at 3-4 in favour of the Dire, with DC also having the tower advantage. When the first proper team fight occurred in the bot lane, DC showed their dominance as they took down four from the Radiant’s line up.

With twenty five minutes passed, DC claimed their second aegis of the game and proceeded to find another two kills off the back of this. But Fnatic found their footing and took down four from the DC line up before dropping the tier two towers top and mid. With thirty four minutes gone, Fnatic moved high ground and dropped the melee barracks bot lane.

A few minutes later, with an aegis in hand, Fnatic took down the DC line up and forced out the GG call, claiming game one of the series.

Game Two

In this game it was Fnatic who claimed an early lead, with four kills in the first three minutes. However, DC begun to realise the threat and developed a foothold in the game, although they were still 5-8 behind in kills. DC continued to restore the game to an even balance and claimed the game’s first aegis. With the aegis in hand, DC ripped through four of the Dire line up and dropped the tier one and two towers mid lane.

The Radiant did not let up with the pressure, constantly finding kills, and by twenty five minutes they'd secured another aegis and were looking ready to siege the high ground. Moments later they dropped four from the Fnatic line up and took down the bottom and mid lane barracks. With no chance of making a comeback, Fnatic were forced to throw in the towel and call GG.

DC were able to tie up the series at 1-1 and that took us into a decisive game three.

Game Three

Game three saw a slower start than the previous games with only one kill falling prior to the five minute point. But at this point, Fnatic began to put a lot of pressure on DC, claiming five more kills in the next two minutes. Once again though, DC begun to find their way back into the game, picking off players with their invis line up, but this time Fnatic seemed to be able to quell the DC comeback for the time being, taking a 12-4 lead by fifteen minutes.

Fnatic utilised their massive advantage and pushed high ground mid prior to twenty five minutes, where they dropped the barracks and wiped the DC team. A few minutes later, Fnatic moved top and dropped the barracks and with the kills that followed, DC had no choice but to call GG.

Fnatic took the series 2-1 and move on to the next round of lower bracket games where they will face the winner of the EG vs FRIENDS game – unfortunately for Digital Chaos, this loss marks the end of their road at SL i-League StarSeries Season 2.
