Fnatic eliminate CDECY from SL StarSeries i-League Season 2

Day two of Starladder StarSeries i-League Season 2 started with an elimination match-up between Fnatic and CDEC Youth. The losing team would head home, while the winners would move on into round two of the lower bracket.

Game One

It took only two minutes for first blood to fall and it went the way of CDECY. With ten minutes gone, the game was fairly even, as the teams began to look for ganks around the map. Fnatic took a slight lead from this period but by thirteen minutes it was closed to a 6-5 score-line. The first major team fight broke out at the tier two tower in the bot lane and CDECY came away from it the victors, picking up three kills.

Of the back of this, CDECY then tried to take another team fight but ended up losing four, while only claiming a single kill. However, CDECY went into the Rosh pit and claimed the first aegis and took the fight that followed too. Thirty minutes in, CDECY seemed to have complete control of the map and game.

With thirty five minutes gone, CDECY dropped the bot lane barracks and then moved mid to down the barracks there. After a few more minutes, Fnatic threw in the towel and called GG, giving game one to CDECY.

Game Two

The opening ten minutes of game two were once again fairly even with three kills going both ways in this time. CDECY started to take the advantage in the game but after losing a fight at Roshan, they lost their advantage and the aegis. With twenty minutes gone, both teams were still rather evenly matched though, trading kills back and forth, along with towers.

Fnatic began to claim a firm grasp of the game after this point, obtaining the next aegis and pushing down the barracks bot lane and destroying the melee barracks mid too. With thirty minutes gone, Fnatic pushed their way into the Dire’s base and drew out the GG call from CDECY, tying up the series at 1-1 and taking us to a decisive game three.

Game Three

This game started faster than the previous two, with two kills going CDECY’s way before the horn had sounded. With five minutes passed, CDEC continued to stretch their advantage as they claimed kills continuously. But Fnatic did well to slow the game down and began to obtain a bit of control back in their favour in the following minutes - however they were still behind in the kills department. The Radiant team managed to claim themselves an aegis and continued their attempt to make their way back into the game.

With thirty minutes passed, neither team looked certain of victory yet, as both continued to farm up items and gear up towards the next Roshan. But just after this, Fnatic took a fight and proceeded to push down the bottom barracks along with the melee barracks mid. Now Fnatic looked in full control of the game and with thirty-eight minutes gone, they dropped four from the CDEC Youth line up and took game three, claiming the series victory 2-1.

Avoiding elimination, Fnatic move forward into round two of the lower bracket where they'll meet the loser of Na'Vi vs EG - while CDEC Youth head home from SL StarSeries i-League Season 2.
