TnC is the first TI6 qualifier winner

Breaking out of tie-breakers by winning a best-of-one against Fnatic and XctN, TnC has become the first team to qualify for The International 6.

Starting in the open qualifiers, TnC secured a slot in the SEA closed qualifiers and proceeded to finish in a three way tie for first place with Fnatic and XctN. The three teams then faced off against each other in best-of-ones to decide the first place team; TnC won their two games, secured first place and a spot at the TI6 main event.

The second to fifth place teams in the group stages will be put into a double elimination playoff bracket. The winner of this bracket will qualify for TI6 and the second placer will qualify for the wildcard position.

TnC vs Fnatic:

Fnatic chose to play a defensive tri-lane and secure the offlane tier one tower early instead of contesting TnC's jungling Beastmaster. This allowed Beastmaster to get a quick level six and find a gank on Fnatic's TA at the five minute mark. TnC kicked off their rotations by crippling Fnatic's farm through the stealing of their ancient stack; in addition to stealing the ancient stack, TnC's smoke also earned them three kills. Another smoke from TnC at the 14 minutes yielded them a kill and Rosh, which forced Fnatic to forfeit their bottom Barracks. Despite this huge advantage, Fnatic were still able to hold off TnC's advances until the next Rosh at 27 minutes. Using the second aegis, TnC secured another Barracks. After using their aegis, TnC were not able to get Mega-creeps, they waited for the third Rosh before taking mega-creeps and winning the game.

At the 13 minute mark, a Rosh fight resulted in a 4-1 exchange in favor of XctN followed by TnC spending buy-backs to try and halt the Rosh, only to lose another three heroes in the process. As a consequence, TnC suffered from a lack of map control and had their farm stolen. The tides turned at the 25 minutes into the game when TnC caught XctN Roshing and managed get three kills on TnC, causing a 4k gold swing. The next major milestone in the game was a good smoke gank by TnC securing the team a 3-1 trade and the third Rosh. Using this advantage, TnC regained map control and slowly took tier two towers. When the fourth Aegis was available, TnC quickly secured the Aegis and won the game.
