Game One:

The drafting stage of game one went in a characteristic way for both teams until the last pick for compLexity Gaming who debated their options for the entire reserved time and finally agreed on trying a mid lane Phantom Assassin for Rasmus 'Chessie' Blomdin.

Assisted by Io, PA had an easy matchup versus Newbee’s Invoker and the laning stage was quite disputed with a lot of skirmishes happening in the top lane where coL sent Axe for fast and easy farm. Despite Newbee's frequent attempts to gank Axe, compLexity reacted with even four man rotations to protect one of their most important initiators and they always came on top. However, Chen 'Hao' Zhihao's Lone Druid never participated in these early skirmishes and continued to free farm his items which came back to haunt the North American team later in the game.

Despite having double Blink Daggers, on Axe and Batrider before the 12 minute mark, coL couldn’t find any pickoffs, especially on the most wanted Lone Druid. Newbee displayed great awareness and avoided team fights until they secured the Aegis of the Immortal at the 18 minute mark. This helped them to slowly but surely regain the map control, pushing coL’s bottom lane and demolishing the first lane of barracks. Newbee outmaneuvered coL in every team fight and a huge factor for their success was Hu 'Kaka' Liangzhi’s Phoenix with remarkable Sun Rays and perfectly positioned Supernovas.

The late game favoured the Chinese who had no problem securing the mega creeps by repeatedly wiping compLexity in their own base with a Refresher Orb on Phoenix.

Game Two:

The next game propelled Newbee further in the tournament but this time it was a full blood bath from start to finish. Both teams managed to grab comfort picks but Newbee managed to outplay coL and dominated the entire game.

On the back of a Zhang 'Mu' Pan Queen of Pain, Kaka Bounty Hunter, Wong Hock 'Chuan' Chuan Lion, and Hao Spectre, the Chinese won all the three lanes and played aggressively right after the Track was online. In only 32 minutes, they scored 51 kills, most of them with the track gold advantage, taking one of the most one sided victories witnessed so far at EPICENTER.

Tomorrow, 15th of May, Newbee will have to face the last big challenge in the lower bracket final to secure their grand finals spot in Moscow. Their adversaries will be the loser from the upper bracket final of OG vs Team Liquid.
