With the release of the direct invites to Nanyang Championship season two, Fnatic has been revealed as the third of four direct invites.
Fnatic will be joining EG and Secret at the Nanyang Championship season two's LAN event in Shanghai, China from the 6th to 10th of July. Considering the organizers plan to directly invite a team each from the Europe, SEA, China, and the Americas regions, the next and final direct invite will therefore be going a Chinese team.
Fnatic are one of SEA's top teams, having a history of winning most SEA-centric tournaments and qualifiers. Their recent SEA tournament achievements list includes a 1st place finish in the SEA Kappa Invitational and BTS Series #4, finishing with a 3-1 victory against Signature.Trust and 3-0 victory against TnC. As for their international performances, Fnatic achieved a 3rd-4th place finish at ESL One Manila and a 9th-10th place finish at EPICENTER.
Over the span of five days, eight teams from around the world will be competing for the $200,000 prize pool offered by the Nanyang Championships. With the revelation of Fnatic's invite, three of the eight teams participating have been confirmed; one more team will be directly invited and four more teams will be coming through qualifiers.
