BTS Series SEA #4: Fnatic back on the throne

Crushing their competition, Fnatic was able to regain their spot as champions of BTS Series SEA without dropping a single game.

Coming shortly after their victory at the SEA Kappa Invitational, Fnatic managed a clean 3-0 victory to top off their string of 2-0 wins in the BTS Series SEA #4. With this victory, Fnatic took home the $5000 first place prize and the title of BTS Series champions, a title which they first gained in season one but lost in season two to Execration. Meanwhile, TnC went home with the second place prize of $3000 and Orange Taring and MVP.Phoenix won $1000 each for finishing joint third.

Despite the victory being a clean 3-0, the games played were quite long, averaging 40 minutes game time for each match, partly due to TnC's resilience and partly due to Fnatic's weak high ground breaching drafts.

TnC went into the game with drafts that are mid-game centric with a strong late-game foundation, while Fnatic went for line-ups that featured farming heroes for Zheng 'MidOne' Yeik Nai and level dependent supports for Djardel 'Dj' Mampusti - a departure from their usual style. Despite being outside of their comfort zone, Fnatic managed to make their line-up work, and forced TnC's GG before TnC's line-up could realize their late-game potential.

The BTS Series SEA is an online tournament series organized by BeyondTheSummit aimed at growing the SEA scene. Over six tournaments split between this and last year, BTS are aiming to hand out $60,000 worth of prize money to expand the SEA scene. Information on the fifth season of the BTS Series #5 is expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
