Mineski change roles

What just a few months ago was the Pinoy Dota 2 pride squad recently became irrelevant in both online and offline competitions and when things are going from bad to worse, changes are needed.

The 9-12th finish spot from the Frankfurt Major was Mineski’s last act of performing on par with the Dota 2 elite squads. Since then the Philippines Champions have struggled to keep up the good performance even in the SEA scene. First alarm signal came with the Shanghai Major regional qualifiers where Mineski was not able to place in the top two of their group missing the chance of advancing into the qualifiers playoffs.

The recent disappointing result at the SL|i-League qualifiers coupled with the disastrous eight games losing streak from MDL triggered a possible roster shuffle. An official announcement from the organization is still to be issued but in the meantime Mineski have been spotted to play at the BTS SEA # 3 and WePlay SEA qualifiers with team's coach, Mark 'Cast' Pilar instead of their Frankfurt Major offlaner and Pinoy veteran Ryo 'ryOyr' Hasegawa.

But this is not all as Mineski is also working now on players roles within the team as well. Their coach stepped in on a support role alongside Ryan 'Bimbo' Qui, who used to play the mid role until now. Freed from the position 5 support, Jessie Cristy 'JessieVash' Cuyco is now testing his skills in the mid lane while Julius 'Julz' De Leon, arguably one of the most talented carries Philippines ever had is now heading back into his comfortable core position one.

Quick recap of Mineski’s recent roster maneuvers:

Philippines Ryo 'ryOyr' Hasegawa - missing in action
PhilippinesCarlo 'Kuku' Palad - from carry to solo mid
Philippines Ryan 'Bimbo' Qui - from solo mid to support
Philippines Julius 'Julz' De Leon - from support position 4 to carry
Philippines Jessie Cristy 'JessieVash' Cuyco - from support position 5 to offlane
team’s coach is now playing support

All these changes seem to have an impact and already Mineski turned from an eight game losing streak to an eight games winning streak at the WePlay Season 3 SEA qualifiers where they lead the charts with an impressive total of 24 points so far.

At the same time Mineski have become the first team to reach the semifinal at BTS SEA #3.
