The second Dota 2 Major is set to start 18 days from now, the dates for the group stage prior the main event and the prize pool distribution have been announced.
The Shanghai Major will debut with four days of group stage to determine the seeding for the main event that will take place on Mercedes - Benz Arena. Although the actual groups are still to be revealed, Perfect World announced the dates when the group stage will take place; February 25th to 28th.
Assuming the Frankfurt Major format will be applied in China as well; all the 16 teams will be spread in four groups with top two from each group advancing into the upper bracket of the Main Event while the bottom two will start from the lower bracket.
Prize pool distribution:
1st place: $1,110,000
2nd place: $405,000
3rd place: $315,000
4th place: $255,000
5th/6th place: $202,000
7th/8th place: $105,000
9th/12th place: $45,000
13th/16th place: $30,000
In the last day of the main event, 6th of March, a Dota 2 orchestral concert will be held live at Mercedes-Benz Arena. Tickets for the main event are still on sale and can be purchased from here. There are three types you can chose from with the price ranging from $15 (¥99) to $150 (¥999) for a VIP week pass.
General Admission Pack: $75 (¥499) - grants admission to all event days and an exclusive gift pack.
VIP Package: $150 (¥999) - grants admission to all event days, with better location and an exclusive VIP gift pack.
For those able to attend only certain days at the venue there are two different day pass tickets: from 2 to 5th March the one day ticket costs $15 (¥99) while the last two days of the main event costs with approximately 10 US dollars more.
The Grand Final tickets will also grant access to the Dota 2 concert. Keep in mind that each person can purchase up to two tickets and once bought, tickets cannot be refunded.
