Certain schools in Norway are offering Esports classes as an alternative to traditional sports class.

Norway, one of the ‘happiest countries in the world’ has proved once again why it is called so. Certain Norwegian schools have changed not only their students, but the whole gaming fraternity by introducing Esports into its physical education curriculum. Norway’s Garnes High School is going to introduce the Esports subject this August. More schools have also joined in this path and have announced to offer Esports as a subject. Norway is the second country to do so after Sweden.

Students will be able to choose between popular games like DOTA 2, CS:GO, League of Legends and Starcraft 2. All the games will be team based.

Students will be given lessons on teamwork, in-game team strategics, focus, reflex sharpening and will be trained both mentally and physically. All the necessary gaming peripherals will be provided to the students by the school. Gaming rooms will be provided with hi-spec PCs.

So with 2 countries now on the list, let’s hope that the list just keeps on increasing.
