Global eSports Cup Day 1: Team Empire off to a solid start

The results of the first three games of day one in the Global eSports Cup Studio LAN event.

After facing some slight technical difficulties, the Global eSports Cup kicked off with 4CL vs Empire.

Team Empire vs 4Clovers & Lepricon:

Game one:

One kill led to another as both Team Empire and 4CL&L played their aggressive line-ups. A barrage of kills was traded back and forth, with the kill score being 5-9 at 13 minutes. Team Empire quickly took the gold and kill lead as teamfights went into their favor; After a few highground attempts by Empire later 4CL&L gave up.

Game two:

Once again, the game got off to an active early game, this time, fewer kills were had as both sides missed them by small margins. As the mid game arrived, 4CL&L's Spirit Breaker and Empire's Legion Commander came online and both teams started trading kills. Ultimately, Team Empire's lineup was better suited for trading and they eventually snowballed out of control.

Team Empire vs No Logic Gaming:

Game One:

The game progressed with Team Empire going for a solid draft with cores like Tiny and Gyrocopter and No Logic Gaming had a bit more offbeat draft with a Luna for carry. The Game was even initially, but the Tiny couldn’t just be contained. The Gyrocopter was able to find a lot of space, which led to a quick Black King Bar. After a while Team Empire looked untouchable as they were able to consistently find kills. They were able to breach the high ground at about 20 minutes into the game and helping themselves to the first game of the series.

Game Two:

Team Empire and No Logic Gaming opted to go with standard drafts once again. No Logic Gaming, who got themselves a Tiny and Queen of Pain as their cores, looked strong, but Team Empire were able to get their hands on the dreaded Dazzle and Slardar with Viper going Mid. With Early pickoffs and strong rotations, Team Empire were able to establish a strong initial lead. With spot on plays and co-ordinated ganks, they were able stomp No Logic Gaming in 16 minutes flat. They also took the series 2-0 and making it the second series win of the day.

No Logic Gaming vs Vega Squadron:

Game one:

The first game between Vega Squadron and No Logic Gaming started off with both teams drafting in accordance with this patch. Vega Squadron and No Logic Gaming had a balanced initial game and wasn't inclining towards either way, but as it progressed the extreme damage output from Lina and Shadow Fiend with good initiations from Beastmaster put Vega Squadron ahead in the game. Regular kills helped Vega establish a strong lead in experience and net-worth which helped them secure Game one of the series.

Game Two:

Once again, the game had similar drafting patters as there was no experimentation. The early game saw a very even matchup between both the teams but as the game started going late, the Juggernaut was uncontrollable. With solid team fighting potential and spot on initiations the Juggernaut and Lina were able to deliver the damage and win fights for No Logic Gaming. After twenty minutes of game, it was No Logic Gaming all the way. In the end the Juggernaut had an impressive stats of 18/0/12. No Logic Gaming comfortably won game two which meant the series was tied between both.
