The groups for TI5 have been drawn

After all the teams arrived in Seattle for the biggest event of the year the two groups of The International 5 have been drawn.

With only three days left until the group stage will kick off  Valve announced the two groups that feature eight teams each with the Wild Card competition winners equally spread.

Each team will face all the other teams in their respective group in a best of two series with the top four advancing to the upper bracket of the main event while the bottom four will go to the lower bracket.

In each match, a coin toss will decide which team has Selection Priority. Every best of two series will be scored as follows:

2-0 win provides 3 points
1-1 score provides 1 point
0-2 loss provides 0 points

Tiebreakers deciding rules:

If there is a tie along the Upper and Lower Bracket divider, more games will be played.
For other games, the following is used:
- Compare the matchup history of the tied teams
- Compare their wins vs the seed right below them. Repeat until resolved
- Coin toss

The Wild Card Competition will be played in a double elimination bracket with best of three games. Winners of the first round will advance in the upper bracket and losers will face each other in the loser bracket. The winner of the loser bracket will go into the group stage phase of the tournament as wildcard #2 and the winning team from the upper bracket will participate in the group stage as wildcard #1.
