Prize distribution, format and schedule of TI5 released

With just a week to go before The International 5, Valve has released the full information on this year's format, prize distribution and schedule.

Schedule:

Wildcard - July 26
Groupstage - July 27-30
Main event - August 3-8
 

Format: 

- All 4 wildcard teams will be playing in a double elimination groupstage. The top two placers of the group will move on to The International 5 groupstage.
- 16 teams will be separated into two groups of eight. Every match will be played in a best-of-two format and the top four finishers will start in the winner bracket of the playoffs. The bottom four will be starting in the loser bracket.
- Playoffs will be using a double elimination bracket. All the games bar the first round of the loser bracket (bo1) will be best-of-three while the grand final will be best-of-five.

The groupings will be revealed July 22nd after all players have arrived.
