While all eyes are on Dota Pit and upcoming The International 5, a tournament for the tier two teams in China has been initiated allegedly by the Anshan (a prefecture in China) government.
The tournament is called ESCC and some of the best young teams from China has been invited to participate in it. Among the eight invited teams are four squads that have competed in The International 5 qualifiers - the highest placing being Energy Pacemaker.
The eight participating teams will be going through a round robin stage to decide the four teams heading into the double elimination playoffs. The top finisher in the group will have the advantage of picking their winner bracket semis opponent.
At the time of publish, the first day of ESCC is over with TongFu and Energy Pacemaker on top. The round robin will continue for the next two days until all the matches are played out.
