After a string of bad luck including their near miss to The International 5, Michael 'ninjaboogie' Ross, support player of Rave, has decided to depart from the team while their captain Jio 'Jeyo' Madayag will be going back to Canada to rest and decide if he will return.
According to Rave's Facebook post, they will be competing in MPGL 7 Philippines qualifier with temporary replacements; former Mineski player Ralph 'RR' Penano and former Arcanys player Marvin Salvador 'boombacs' Rushton. MPGL 7 Philippines qualifier will begin on the 14th of June.
Rave came into 2015 as the South East Asian team to beat after they took 5-6th place in Dota 2 Asian Championship in February. However, a series of visa issues caused the team to miss out on joinDOTA MLG Season 1 and subsequently, precious training time when they were denied from going back to Korea.
As a result, the members of Rave played in separate countries and subsequently lost in the qualifiers of Red Bull Battle Grounds and ESL One Frankfurt. The team was then forsaken by Valve in its invite to The International 5. Rave had to go through the gruelling qualifiers and they eventually finished just one position short of making it to Seattle.
Rave current team roster:
Mark 'Cast' Pilar
Ryo 'ry0yr' Hasegawa
Djardel 'Chrissy' Mampusti
Ralph 'RR' Penano
Marvin Salvador 'boombacs' Rushton
