TI5 EU qualifiers – Alliance Eliminated - Na’Vi Advance

Day two of TI5 EU qualifiers ended with a completely unexpected result as Alliance got eliminated by PR. 4ASC and Na’Vi are the ones who advance into the playoffs from first position followed by NiP.

At the end of the second day of European qualifiers for this year’s International the group stage is not completely decided yet as the second spot from group B for the double elimination round is still be to be decided in the first game of the day three.

In a dramatic turn of events, after a first day dictated by draw scores in group A, three teams were tied up with only three points and ready to fight their fate in these qualifiers; Burden United, Ninjas in Pyjamas and Alliance.

The debut series of day two brought together Alliance and NiP who continued the draw trend going as they end once again with a 1:1 score. A more determined Swedish squad seemed to be Ninja in Pyjamas who got for themselves a clear 2:0 victory against Power Rangers, not only solidifying their shot to playoffs but throwing Alliance in a very dangerous spot.

All Alliance needed was a 2:0 victory but they failed to accomplish this only one task in order to keep the hope alive. Going for another draw versus Burden United their last game was to be held versus already eliminated Power Rangers. With nothing to win and nothing to lose PR played out of their minds going in the first game for an undetected level one Roshan and with a pocket strategy that include a carry Alchemist who build an Aghanim’s Scepter for his fellow offlaner Weaver. Alliance looked completely taken by surprise and they lost in a grand manner. Second game it was help between two already eliminated teams, even so, PR won this one as well, putting the last nail into Alliance’s coffin.

Na'Vi sink the Yellow Submarine

From the group B Na’Vi is the team who advance to playoffs directly in the winner bracket. With three out of four of their games played in the first day, the Ukrainian squad was left to face only the underdog Yellow Submar1ne.The first game of the series showed CIS aggressiveness at the highest level as the two supports of Na’Vi were in a continuous hunt for blood, bullying all the Yellow Submar1ne lanes and they were forced tapped out at only 17 minutes into the game. Being one step away from elimination, for the game two YeS chose to have a more clowning way to mark their submarine sink and opt for a support Pudge last pick and so their Seattle dream came to an end.

For the second place in the group A there are still London Conspiracy and Vega Squadron, both with four points, to decide which one goes further and which one will stop the journey.

 Underwhelming Attendance

The most anticipated team to even make it to Seattle were the Alliance but they failed to deliver at the most important qualifiers for a tournament, despite the fact that in the last moths they looked like they were back in shape. The return of AdmirallBulldog to the squad alongside with passing the role of captain to 7ckngMad should have been the winning move for the TI 3 champions but at the end of the day they have written history but this time, a rather sad one for their fans  by failing to qualify at The International 5.
