The International 5 prize pool now $10,000,000

After receiving a huge bump following the release of Immortal Treasure II, the prize pool of The International 5 has reached $10,000,000 29 days after the release of the Compendium. With only $931,105 and 60 days to go to overttake the prize pool from last year's event, it is almost certain that The International will break its own record for the biggest prize pool in a gaming tournament once again.

This year, Valve is hoping that their new and improved Compendium would bring the prize pool up to $15,000,000 but realistically speaking, the prize pool should peak at a maximum of 13 million dollars. The release of the Immortal Treasure II has been extremely crucial in hitting this milestone considering the contribution has decreased drastically since last week.

Going as low as a contribution of $66,000 a day prior to the release, the first 24 hours after Immortal Treasure II was patched into the game yielded The International 5 $527,950 in cash prize.

With that said, Valve will be hard at work in the next few days to release the newly unlocked Immortal Treasure III in a timely manner. Compendium owners should however, expect delays considering Immortal Treasure II had just been released two days ago.

Another small rise in the prize contribution should be expected after the release of Immortal Treasure III.
