TI5 CN Qualifiers: EHOME finish first, CDEC to wildcard

The Chinese TI5 Qualifiers have finished, EHOME will go to the main event while CDEC will be looking to make it through the wildcards in Seattle.

The final day of The International 5 Chinese qualifiers started with the lower bracket matchup between CDEC and Energy Pacemaker followed by EHOME and CDEC.

CDEC got to the finals after beating Energy Pacemaker easily, two games to one but the real test came when they faced EHOME in the grand finals. EHOME were way too much to handle for this young CDEC squad which had to succumb to the wrath of the rOtk lead squad, losing the series 1-3.

EHOME have secured themselves an entry to the biggest Dota tournament of the season and CDEC have guaranteed a spot for themselves in the wildcard, which is also nothing to scoff at for this young team.

CDEC vs Energy Pacemaker :

CDEC looked motivated today even after losing to EHOME 0-2 yesterday, they won the match 2-0 to moved on to the grand finals against EHOME. EP impressed us with their drafts yesterday when they ended the open qualifier winner Wings' dream and continued their own dream run.

Draft Highlight; "This is how you Drow Visage"

Draft of  Game One

The first game of the LB Final between CDEC and Energy Pacemaker was pretty much decided from the drafting stage. CDEC emerged with basically a dream combo of heroes: Drow, Windranger,Visage, Nature’s Prophet, Witch doctor which lead them into winning the laning phase. EP’s towers started to fall down one by one but the overconfidence and aggression allowed EP to get three kills when CDEC got too greedy.

For a moment, the comeback looked real and EP even managed to sneak themselves a Roshan take-down. But at the end of the day CDEC got the focus back, regrouped and with Roshan and Cheese in their pocket they made their final push and just rolled over Energy Pacemaker.

CDEC vs EHOME :

CDEC were underdogs coming in considering they lost to EHOME yesterday, 0-2 and it looked like they were still banged up about yesterday's lost. It looked like an easy match for EHOME, everyone predicted a 3-0 sweep in their favor but CDEC showed some signs of life.

CDEC started 0-2 in the series and it looked like EHOME had CDEC's number when they beat them in both games, granted they didn't dominate but it always felt like an outplay by EHOME.

Consequently, the dreams of getting a direct invite for EHOME were over but a surprise Ember pick for Agressif caught EHOME off-guard. CDEC had an early game centric draft and had to snowball until minute 15 to win and they managed to do so. EHOME still tried to hang on and managed to do so untill a long time based on their great team fight but finally lost the game. One major clash in the middle lane, of the back of a smoke gank, gave CDEC the advantage they needed to carry the rest of the game to victory.

The final game of the series; "The Gyro Counter"

LanM is a GOD

The game started with LaNm on his Witch Doctor securing early kills for Cty's Queen of Pain and shutting down the Invoker, who remained shutdown due to the lack of a comeback farming method. But RNG was against EHOME, when rOtk's Axe got poor jungle camps and Clockwerk stole his stacks with level four Rockets Flares. All in all, it was an okay early game for both the teams.

During the mid game, the Clockwerk had some good initiations and was able to find a few pick offs which didn't amount to much until the whole Dire squad decided to smoke gank. They had two perfect smoke ganks in a row, at one point the mid-game, CDEC were on a 10 kill streak and had a big gold and experience advantage.

The final stage of the game however didn't go CDEC's way, EHOME decided to initiate with smokes instead of waiting around for Agressif and his team. Slowly, they found favorable trades; getting a couple of kills for a support and the likes to level out the game but they had one huge team fight in the bottom lane where LaNm on his Witch Doctor had a full damage death ward to shutdown the Gyrocopter.

The key for EHOME was the answers they had for Gyrocopter and CDEC's lack of damage on other cores. Invoker had a big farm disparity when compared to Cty's Queen and they had no damage once EHOME controlled the Gyro which wasn't that hard considering they had an Axe, Hex on Queen and Razor. The MVP of that game was definitely LaNm, he made plays for them from minute one up until the end of the game to secure his team an invite to the main event of the International 5.
