TI5 America groups end, Mouz toying with Compendium owners

After finishing with mediocre standings yesterday, Mouz finished their first match against Root Gaming in a tie which seriously threatened millions of Compendium owners and their qualification to TI. While Mouz waited for their final match against Unknown, they could only sit and watch as the matches between Root, Unknown and Complexity could render their match useless and knock them out of the running. Fortunately for Mouz, it all worked out in their favour because a draw between Root and Unknown, and Complexity's 2-0 win over Unknown kept Unknown low enough for them to survive.

At 5 points and 4 points prior to the match, Mouz needed to win just one game in the best-of-two series to finish second in group B. It was a tense moment for Black and co. but they were able to perform under pressure and took game one with relative ease.

The game winning draft

With the win, Mouz has guaranteed themselves a second place finish in group B while Complexity formidably finished first in the group, losing only one out of the eight games played.

Group A on the other hand, was not as action packed as Group B's dramatic ending. North American Rejects and VoidBoys was already firmly in the lead at the conclusion of the first play time courtesy of VB's win against Peruvian team Not Today and Leviathan upsetting top contender Wheel. It was more of a battle for seeding but the match between NAR and VB ended 2-0 in favour of NAR.

As a result, NAR will be going against Complexity in the winner bracket of the playoffs. Mouz on the other hand, will face VoidBoys at 02:00 tomorrow for their shot at TI5.

Day 3 schedule:

23:00 - NAR vs CoL
02:00 - VoidBoys vs Mouz

Game of the day: Leviathan vs Not Today clowny game 2

There were several good games played today but game two between Leviathan and Not Today definitely takes the cake in terms of pure entertainment. Both teams were already eliminated by the time the game happened and there is nothing like playing some fun Dota before they end their TI5 run.

The game was clowny even from the drafting phase. Not Today picked Pudge as their first choice and Leviathan responded with Magnus and Techies. While the aim of the game was to have fun, both teams played rather seriously in the beginning but when the laning phase started breaking down, it was time for both teams to start throwing their bodies to secure kills.

Pudge played by Smash was very impressive as he landed hook after hook to put his team ahead. However, all these gold advantage was spent on unorthodox competitive items such as Dagon and Ethereal Blade on Nature's Prophet and Euls Scepter of Divinity on Pudge.

The trashtalk between both the teams are particularly hilarious as well, especially when Magnus managed to Skewer somebody into a bunch of bombs.

The game was kept rather close and Leviathan even made a small comeback towards the end but attempting to kill the tanky Pudge was an ordeal, especially when he has Force Staff, Dagger, Ghost Scepter and Euls.

149 kills later, Not Today finally breached Leviathan's defense and end the game at 54 minutes with both teams consoling each other for crashing out of the qualifier.
