The ASUS PlayItCool tournament will take place on May 3rd in Cologne, Germany. Four invited European teams will fight in a LAN setting for their own share of the $30,000 prizepool. The invited teams are Alliance, Virtus.pro, Ninjas-in-Pyjamas and Lemondogs.
The recently announced ASUS Play It Cool event will feature three tournaments for popular eSports titles : DotA2, HearthStone and Heroes of the Storm. The event is scheduled to take place over three days, from May 1st through 3rd, in Cologne, Germany. The DotA2 competition will be held on the final day, at 11:00 CEST.
The Dota2 tournament will feature four teams, Alliance, Virtus.Pro, Ninjas in Pyjamas and Lemondogs. Through best-of-three matches, these teams will battle over the $30,000 prize pool in front of a live audience. The casting crew will consist of several popular casters and personalities, such as William 'Blitz' Lee, Austin 'TheCapitalist' Walsh and current professional player Kai 'H4nn1' Hanbueckers. Salome 'Soe' Gschwind Penski will take the role of the host.
Despite being a relatively small competition, the ASUS Play It Cool tour will certainly have its own significance for the DotA2 scene. It will be one of the first LAN tournaments after the introduction of the new balance patch 6.84, and one of the last ones before the announcement of The International 5 invites. This means that the four participants will have the chance to showcase their new strategies, whilst making their own display of skill that will get them closer to a direct invitation.
