In two separate announcements, Game Show invitational has been postponed and will instead host an amateur Dota 2 competition featuring a $15,000 prize pool.
News has come out that the second season of the Game Show invitational has been delayed to the second half of 2015 and will take place in the September-October time period. The finals are to be delayed until the December 5th and will feature a LAN event that will take place during DreamHack Moscow. The reason for the delay was given as scheduling issues, with the organizers unable to schedule the games between the teams and promised activities like fan matches with the teams or players. Despite this bad news there is some good news, the base prize pool of the tournament was also said to have been doubled to $100,000.
In a separate announcement, the Game Show invitational announced an amateur Dota 2 division featuring a $15,000 prize pool, the first round of qualifications will kick off tomorrow, the 23rd of April.
There will be 16 teams participating in this tournament, eight invited and eight qualified teams; there will be two open qualification rounds of which the top four teams of each will qualify for the tournament. After the eight qualified teams have been confirmed, the eight invited teams will be announced and the 16 teams will be split up into four groups where they will play out best-of-threes. The top two of each group will then advance to the double elimination best-of-three bracket where they will fight for their stake in the $15,000 prize pool.

The Game Show invitational is a tournament which aims to bring viewers bonus content in addition to the games played out. In the initial announcement of the tournament it was claimed that during the tournament various events such as fan matches and interviews with famous streamers and players will be carried out. In addition the ticket for this tournament comes with the tournament's Shadow Demon set.
