VG strikes back against LGD in the VP Game LAN final, taking the series 3-1

This two week all Chinese $24 500 price pool tournament has come to an end following Vici Gaming's dominating performance against LGD in the LAN final, taking them down 3-1.

Vici Gaming takes home the USD13 000 first prize at the VP Game tournament which concluded yesterday after the LAN final which saw LGD being dominated by VG, losing 3-1 to them; LGD goes home with the second place prize of USD6500.

With this result, Vici Gaming takes their revenge on LGD after being defeated by them 2-0 in the winner bracket final, relegating them to the loser bracket and forcing them to play an extra game against the surprise third place team Tongfu, who, despite their poor 20% win rate late month, eliminated teams like IG and CDEC to get to the loser bracket finals. However, Tongfu were not strong enough to stand against VG who won their game against them 2-0 and proceeded to the LAN final where they took their revenge in the best-of-five against LGD.

Game 1

?

Game one saw a very standard draft from LGD and a slightly unorthodox draft from VG, having picked up a Dragon Knight mid and Magnus offlane. At the beginning, Venge was cliffed by Magnus which allowed Magus to not be at risk of dying in the offlane. Following that was a very passive early and mid game, but due to the cliffing of Venge, VG's support was able to get more farm and space for their Troll, despite LGD's constant attempts at taking tier one towers, it was not enough to stop VG's Troll and other cores from farming up and taking the game.

Game 2

?

LGD decided to run dual lanes this game with a support Night Stalker and Morphling in the offlane; the support Night Stalker pick was in response to VG's skill based line-up with casters like Storm Spirit and Phantom Lancer. The early and mid game were once again passive for both team with VG slowly building a lead through farming and finding a few pick offs. The game turned bad for LGD when they attempted to contested VG's rosh, LGD took heavy loses and riding the new found surge of momentum, VG took the throne.

Game 3

?

Game 3 featured a much more active early game than the other games with VG's Shadow Demon Mirana combo roaming around. However, in an attempt on LGD's Razor's life, they were anticipated and LGD got counter kills; the same occurred when Axe tried to gank the mid lane, these two event gave LGD a slight lead. With the advantage going to LGD, VG felt pressure to make something happen, but as they tried to take a fight against LGD in the mid game, they suffered heavy loses with limited damage done to LGD. Riding this momentum for the rest of the game, LGD was able to take their first victory in the series.

Game 4

?

The general flow of game four was in VG's favor, with their draft setting them up to win two out of their three lanes and also allowing them to fully utilize their jungle in the early game with a Sandking. Using their line-up's early game advantage and Broodmother's ability to cause havoc on the supports, consistently killing them, VG soon secured a strong lead in the early game. The lead only got stronger in the mid game as VG's Troll Warlord continued his free farm and became the key in taking LGD's high ground later in the game.
