The sixth qualifier for the Esportal LAN finals is coming to a climax as eight teams prepare to compete for their ticket to Sweden including Vega Squadron, Basically Unknown and Goblak's new team 4Clovers.
The opening stage of the Esportal Open Qualifier 3 has finished and only eight teams remain after battling over 100 teams over the space of three days. 4 Anchors + Sea Captain, Basically Unknown, Vega Squadron, Black Knights 17, Moscow Five, Taco Life, 4 Clover + Lepricon and aSpera will now prepare to compete to be the sixth qualified team for the Stockholm based LAN event and win $2000 in prize money. The lineup for the Esportal LAN finals is finally taking shape with Team Empire, ASUS.Polar and Ninjas in Pyjamas being the biggest names awaiting their challengers.
The eight teams battled past both amateur teams and more recognised teams like hehe united and SCARYFACEZZZ. Some of the lesser known teams reaching the second stage include Joel 'Apemother' Larsson's new team Taco Life and the newly formed European and CIS crossover team 4 Clovers + Lepricon, the latter including Artur 'Goblak' Kostenko and Kai' H4nn1' Hanbückers. This will be the second Open Qualifier appearance for Vega Squadron, after they made it to the first open qualifier final to lose their LAN final place to HellRaisers. The qualifiers are set to continue on April 13th with all four round-of-eight matches scheduled for that day. The qualifier continue until the grand final scheduled for April 15th, with no times have been confirmed at the time of writing.
