Marking the end of the SEA qualifiers, Team MY defeated Rave, who eliminated MVP.Phoenix in the losers bracket, 2-0. The other four qualifiers will be starting later in the month.
The first qualifier of the Red Bull Battle Grounds has ended with Team MY booking their tickets to Santa Monica after they crushed Rave 2-0 in the SEA qualifier. The next qualifier that will be taking place is the Chinese qualifier on the 13th of April, it will be played out in the same format as the SEA qualifier.
Team MY are currently on a ten match win streak; reflecting their recent dominating performance, taking down top SEA teams with ease. Defeating Can't Say Wips (2-0), MVP.Phoenix (1-0 and 2-1) and Rave (2-0). With these results less than two months after their formation, they have already won the qualifiers for two international lans, Red Bull Battle Grounds and Starladder 12.
Rave entered into the finals through the losers bracket whereas Team MY entered via the winners bracket. Team MY dropped both CSW and MVP.Pheonix into the losers bracket and Rave eliminated them in the losers bracket after having been sent there by MVP.Phoenix in the winner bracket's first round.
The game between Rave and Team MY was highly anticipated by fans of both teams but although not the most exciting games, had quite a few tense moments . The games were also met with quite a few reconnects on Rave's side as they are unable to play together in a training house due to visa issues.
Game one featured both sides drafting well rounded lineups with roughly equal strength in all stages of the game; resulting in a relatively even early game. But as the mid-game approached, a smoke gank gone bad by Rave led to a lost fight with minimal losses on Team MY, this quickly snowballed into multiple lost fights and an eventual surrender by Rave.
Game two saw Rave picking up an Axe and Troll Warlord in an attempt to take the game in the mid game, but they quickly realized that they were able to neither win their lanes well enough nor find enough pick offs to build momentum which would be used to crush Team MY; the result was Team MY taking Rosh and farming well. Using this advantage, Team MY went high ground and took raxes, crippling Rave. When Rave decided to initiate against Team MY, they quickly realized that Team MY's Sniper was too big to kill after Earth Shaker's entire skill set only brought him down to three quarters health and called GG.
