The first qualifier of the Red bull battlegrounds will feature four top SEA teams like CSW and MVP.Phoenix battling it out for a spot at the main LAN event to be held at Santa Monica, CA.
The qualifiers will be played out in a best of one double elimination bracket with a best of three finals. The game that will be kicking off the qualifiers is on the sixth of April at 10:00 CET with Team MY vs Can't Say Wips, following that will be four other best of ones played between the teams to decide the two finalist who will play each other in a best of three to decide who will earn a $5,000 stake in the prize pool and a trip to the LAN event at Santa Monica, CA where they will battle against the winners of the other four qualifiers.
Team MY are looking strong in this bracket as they have recently taken a best of three series against two of the three teams in the bracket, having bested CSW 2-0 and 2-1 MVP.Phoenix in the past week. In addition, Team MY are in good form recently with a win-loss in official games of 15-1 last month.
As for the others, both Rave and MVP.Phoenix have been putting up mediocre performances recently with a win-loss of 54% and 50% last month. But considering the best of one format, the possibility of both these teams taking a game off the other teams is high as MVP.Phoenix has shown by taking games off Rave and defeating Team MY in the past.
However, due to Rave's recent misfortune, it is unknown if they will be able to perform their best in the tournament today. Rave lost their slot to ESL One Frankfurt after losing to Underminer yesterday night amidst a dozen disconnections by the three members that are currently stuck in the Philippines.
