EG and NoT qualified for The Summit 3

Evil Geniuses and Not Today will travel to Beyond The Summit's mansion in Los Angeles after dominating the American qualifiers. Only two more slots are left in the tournament: one for the winner of the Chinese qualifier and another from the Redemption voting.

The American qualifier for The Summit 3 has just ended with Not Today defeating CompLexity in a nail-biting 2-1 series. The Peruvian squad will join Evil Geniuses, ViCi Gaming, Rave, Team Secret, and Cloud 9 in Los Angeles from May 13th to May 17th.

The American qualifiers did not pose many surprises as the two qualified team had effortless, undefeated runs until they faced each other in the winner's finals. The Peruvians dealt a deciding blow to the DAC champions, handing the team their only loss and forcing a deciding game three. EG, however, responded with a terrific and smart performance that earned them their ticket to LA.

CompLexity on the other hand, took the tougher road to the lower bracket final. After defeating eHug in relative ease, they were crushed by EG soon thereafter. The North American team had to weave through Wheel Whreck While Whistling and Leviathan before they finally facing off against NoT. Swindermelonz and company started with a rough loss but they recovered in a dramatic game two with a 600 CS Phantom Lancer by Zyzzy. In the all-or-nothing game three to determine the last American ambassador, vanN's amazing Storm Spirit combined with the constant splitpush by Smash's Naga Siren shattered coL's defense and forced them to tap out.

Though both teams attended The Summit 2, both team's rosters have also changed considerably since the last event. EG will be coming into the tournament as the top contender after their amazing performance at Dota 2 Asia Championship, where their new blood in Aui_2000 and SumaiL helped them take first place. As for NoT, this will be their second major LAN in North America after ifrit, StingeR and vanN joined. Prior to The Summit 3, they will be heading to Columbus, Ohio to compete in JoinDOTA MLG Pro League on April 10th. MLG Pro League should serve as a preview of NoT's performance in LA, as they must first do battle against team EG, NiP, MVP, Empire and BBC over a span of two days before heading to The Summit.

It's clear that Not Today is one of the underdogs in both competitions, but they have given quite a scare to top North American teams and they should not be trifled with. The team also confirmed that their entire roster will be able to fly to the events, having secured the visas for all the players.

The only remaining qualifier for The Summit 3 is the Chinese one, which will continue in less than eight hours and feature premiere teams such as iG, EHOME, LGD and Newbee.
