The Summit 3 China Phase Two Begins Today

The phase two of the Summit 3 qualifiers will begin today, featuring the likes of LGD, IG, Ehome, Newbee. Eight teams will battle it out in a double elimination bracket and there is just one slot for the Chinese teams.

The second phase of The Summit 3 Chinese Qualifiers is set to begin today, it features a total of eight teams who will be competing for the single slot for the Summit 3 which is to be held on 13 May 2015.

The two teams in this bracket namely Vici Potential and CDEC qualified through the first phase which featured eight other teams in a single elimination bracket. Vici Gaming, arguably the best Chinese team right now have already been invited by the organisers.

The two teams to look out for will be LGD and Invictus Gaming. The clear favorites will be Invictus Gaming who since the inception of their new roster have won the Major All Stars LAN and qualified for Starladder XII, having a record 33-12 since DAC. On the other hand, LGD after the pickup of Maybe, Xiao8 and Mikasa as coach look shaky and inconsistent maintaining a 53% win rate after 39 games but recently they've hit a new gear; consistently beating teams below their level and have sometimes they take a game or two from IG and Vici Gaming, they even beat IG in a best of three series. The head to head record between Invictus Gaming and LGD is 7-4, these qualifiers can also be viewed as a battle for the number two spot in China. Although there is always a possibility of a potential upset, it'll be interesting to see whether a new team comes out of the blue and manages to beat expectations and surprise people.

The first match will be between LGD Gaming and CDEC at 12:00 CET. For more information about the qualifiers and upcoming matches head on to the coverage hub.
