MLG and ESPN include Pro League Season 2 at X Games Austin

MLG and ESPN X Games are teaming up to include the jD MLG Pro League to the lineup of competitions at this year's summer X Games June 4-7 in Austin, Texas

With the participants for the joinDota MLG Pro League Season 1 LAN Finals finally established, organizers are already looking ahead for what comes after Columbus. According to sources, this year's X Games in Austin, Texas, held June 4-7, will be the location of the Season 2 finals. The X Games, an ESPN organized event, has traditionally focused on extreme sports, including skateboarding, BMX biking, and snowboarding. This past year marked the organizations' first foray into eSports, featuring Call of Duty: Ghosts at 2014's summer X Games and, more recently, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive at the 2015 winter X Games. This event will include Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare alongside Dota 2.

A feature at the X Games adds to the growing recognition of Dota 2 and eSports in general. With eSports becoming the equivalent to extreme sports for this generation, the event's inclusion of it seems like a natural fit. Since a Dota 2 tournament has not been broadcasted on ESPN since last year's TI4, MLG Pro League Season 2 is a chance to bring more mainstream eyes to the scene, especially as TI5 rolls around.

Tickets for X Games Austin are available now at www.ticketmaster.com/xgames. A three-day X Games Experience ticket will provide access to the MLG tent in addition to all X Games activities.

Fans can also catch all the action from MLG X Games via MLG.tv or MLG apps on iOS, AndroidRoku, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
