According to an announcement on Merlini's twitter, Monib Baray has officially disbanded. This ends the chances of Merlini's comeback to competitive Dota, at least for the foreseeable future.
Monib Baray just played the American Pre Qualifiers for The Summit 3 and lost to Boreal eSports in the first round and got eliminated from the tournament. The North American stack was also invited to the Red Bull Battleground event along with; eHug, Summoner's Rift and Not Today from the American division. The division only consists of four teams in total and it is currently unclear who will replace them in the $75,000 event.
The disbandment leaves five free agents in the American Scene; Ioannis 'Fogged' Loucas, Tyler 'TC' Cook, Aaron 'Clairvoyance' Kim, Ben 'Merlini' Wu and Monib 'Monib' Baray. None of these players have joined any new teams as of yet although Fogged was seen playing StarLadder with compLexity Gaming yesterday as a stand-in. Merlini's comeback aspirations won't be fullfilled at least for now, he might look to join another team in the future though.
