The West proved stronger than the East in the first phase of the European qualifiers of The Summit 3. 4ASC and NiP managed to take down Power Rangers and Virtus.pro respectively to advance to the second phase, the double-elimination bracket that leads to Los Angeles.
After three action-packed days, we now know the two teams that will advance to the second phase of The Summit 3 European qualifiers. The first one is 4Anchors, the pleasant surprise of the competition, who managed to take down both HellRaisers and Power Rangers despite their sloppy performance in their recent matches. They will be joined by Ninjas in Pyjamas, the Swedish squad that who managed to snatch the spot from Virtus.pro using one of their successful Shadow Fiend strategies. The two teams will now have to survive the double-elimination bracket of the second phase against six of the strongest teams in Europe.
The second phase of the European qualifiers will begin later this month, and it will surely be quite interesting to watch. The double elimination bracket will open with the classic derby between Natus Vincere and Alliance, and the two teams will surely have to deal with their roster issues if they want to travel to Los Angeles. Much like the rest of the regions, all the phase-2 matches will be best-of-three, and the grand final will be best-of-five.
With both SEA and Europe having reached the second round of their respective regional qualifiers, it is now time for the American teams to jump in the arena.
