Final stage of Major All Stars SEA qualifiers due to begin

The former-Arrow Gaming roster Team Redemption have secured their place in the second stage of the $100,000 Major All Stars South East Asian qualifier and will compete in a bracket including Can't Say Wips, Signature.Trust, Pokerface and MVP.HOT6 following the conclusion of the open qualifiers.

Team Redemption have secured victory in their open bracket to reach the final eight teams fighting for qualification to Major All Stars, the largest tournament in South East Asia with a prize pool of over $100,000. The Malaysian roster now tagged as Team Redemption were involved in a large match fixing scandal that rocked the South East Asian competitive scene last year, but are finally beginning their self-dubbed 'redemption' and return to the competitive scene after several months of inactivity. They reach the second stage of the qualifier with Natit Gaming, Can't Say Wips, Signature.Trust (former-Mith.Trust), Pokerface, MVP.HOT6, [L]ittle and TnC Dota 2. The eight teams will go on to compete in a single elimination bracket to find the final two teams for the LAN finals in Kuala Lumpur and join Rave and Invasion.

While the open bracket achieved 695 registered teams, the ranked teams competing were unevenly separated. Pokerface and MVP Hotsix, ranked 43rd and 109th in the world appeared in separate brackets assuring both teams qualified, but a total of five ranked teams ranging from 31st to 132nd appeared together in Bracket A. The result saw all of the ranked teams in fail to qualify while former-Titan Wei 'NWP' Poong Ng's new team Natit Gaming claimed the only spot. Team Redemption battled through a qualifier bracket that featured Rex Regum Qeon, MSI-EvoGT.PP-TRICinsidiousidol and the recently disbanded First Departure to secure their place.

The next stage of the qualifier begins at 11:00 CET with a single elimination bracket featuring the eight teams competing in best-of-three matches, beginning with Team Redemption taking on Natit Gaming. Whoever reaches the final two teams in the bracket will join Rave and Invasion as the four South East Asian teams to compete in Kuala Lumpur, with the remaining four places awaiting for the Chinese, American and European qualifiers that are expected to begin over the next couple of months.
