First Departure officially disbands

The Singaporean squad First Departure has officially disbanded, after a long run in the SEA scene since 2012. While the future of the team's members is currently unknown, Meracle tweeted that he will continue his career in another Singaporean team.

This is a sad day for the fans of competitive SEA DotA2, as First Departure has disbanded once and for all. The team was created back in 2012 and quickly became one of Singapore's most respected squads. The sudden announcement came through a tweet by Meracle, who will continue his career in another Singaporean team. The disbandment was surely unexpected, as the team announced their participation in the upcoming Prime Major Tournament yesterday.

Since their inception back in 2012, First Departure had to undergo numerous roster changes, especially in early 2014 and the transfer of three players to Scythe Gaming. The team was also plagued by the Singaporean laws and regulations, with army and university commitments directly affecting the plans of their players (two recent examples are the departure of Hana due to his military service and the forfeit of their LAN spot in The Summit 2). Nevertheless, their performance after TI4 had improved impressively, and the disbandment was probably a result of internal conflict.

First Departure roster :

Singapore Galvin 'Meracle' Kang Jian Wen
Singapore Chan 'Lubby' Jun Jie
Singapore Wilson 'poloson' Koh Chin
Singapore Teo 'Meen' Kai Sheng
