Area51 Dota2 Cup: Four teams left, NiP to face Empire

The Area 51 Dota2 Cup by Alienware are in its semi-finals. The four remaing teams are all in the money, however, they will still be fighting for the $4,500 first place prize. Among the teams eliminated are Meepwn'd and Asus.Polar, losing 2-0 to Empire and NiP respectively.

So far the tournament had a lot of surprises in store, the elimination of Asus.Polar by Ninjas in Pyjamas and the destruction of the all-star lineup Meepwn'd are among the big ones. The tournament will continue with its third day today at 17:00 (CET/ GMT+1) and will be kicking off with Virtus Pro vs Team Tinker.

Virtus Pro seems to be the favorites in their match today, having a 6-1 win loss ratio against Team Tinker according to the GosuGamers database. But with the few recent roster changes on Team Tinker, there is a possibility that they could pull out a win against Virtus Pro.

As for the other game of the day, NiP vs Empire, the favorites is a lot harder to call. Having only played one game against each other this year, making a reliable prediction about this game is nearly impossible. However, it is worth it to note that Empire are currently on fire, having a win rate of 75% this month, having crushed many tier one teams with ease and most recently taking their first StarLadder championship.

Prize pool distrubution:
1st: $4500
2nd: $2500
3rd/4th: $1500
