Battle of Central Europe is back with its 3rd Season

Battle of Central Europe has announced the third season of their tournament with a prize pool of $30,000. The tournament has invited eight of the stronger European teams while other slots will be filled by qualifiers.

Following the popularity of the first two seasons of Battle of Central Europe, the organization recently announced the third season of the tournament. This edition surely looks to be a more grand affair than the last two as the prize pool has escalated significantly to $30,000 from the earlier editions which had prize pools in three digits. Notable teams like Virtus Pro, VP.Polar, Power Rangers and Moscow5 are amongst the ones invited. A total of 16 teams will make it to the main event, out of which 8 are invited and have already been announced.

The registrations for the tournament have already begun and will continue till the 7th of November. The organizers have increased the limit on total possible registrations to 128. The qualifiers will be held on November 8th and 9th, which will comprise of Best-of-1's until the Round of 16 wherefrom the matches will be Best-of-3's. Interestingly, AlbumSheet who were winners of both the earlier seasons are not to be seen in the invited teams list.

The main event begins on the November 10th and will involve two phases: a group stage followed by a double elimination bracket. The group stage will find teams playing Best-of-2's with each team from their group in a round-robin fashion. The results of the group stage will not eliminate any team from the tournament but only influence their position in the brackets. While the fourth ranked teams are put in the lower bracket, the second and third ranked teams will find themselves in the first round of the upper bracket. The leaders of each group however, get a direct entry to the second round of the upper bracket. The bracket will run till 26th of November on which the grand finals will be played out.
