Dota Pit League announces season 2 with at least $75,000 up for grabs

A few months after their first season, Dota Pit announces a much bigger season 2. 16 teams from the West will compete over the course of five weeks for at least $75,000. A ticket bundled with a Lich set will be up for purchase to increase the prize pool even further.

Update:
Denial eSports has been confirmed as the last team on the list, rounding out the 16 invites.

Today, Dota Pit has announced their second season. The Dota Pit League Season 2 will see 16 high profiled teams compete for over $75,000. The prize pool is subject to change, as viewers can increase it by purchasing the in-game ticket which is bundled with a Lich set. Each purchase will increase the prizepool by $1,25.

The tournament will start at the end of September and will last several weeks. The teams will be drawn into two groups of eight with a round-robin format, followed by a single-elimination playoff bracket. Each team plays every other team twice with each win awarding one point. The group winners will be seeded directly into the semi-finals, whereas the second placed teams will be seeded into the quarter finals. The 3rd and 4th placed teams will face off against each other to determine the two remaining quarter final seeds. These seeding matches, as well as the quarter-finals will be bo3 matches, whereas the semi-finals and the finals will be played out in a bo5 format.

Invited are top teams such as Evil Geniuses, Alliance, Team Secret and many more. It is to note that Natus Vincere declined to participate in this tournament.

Coverage will be provided by HighgroundTV as the official English casters.
