D2CL and SLTV announce $15,000 BattleArena

The organizers of the Dota 2 ChampionsLeague and StarLadderTV are collaberating for a two-day event called the BattleArena. It will see four of the top Western teams compete for a $15,000 prizepool in a bo3 single elimination bracket on August 25th-26th. It will be the first big tournament showing for Na'Vi, EG, Cloud9 and VP after TI4.

Fans will not have to wait until StarLadder commences to see their star-studded line-ups compete. D2CL in cooperation with StarLadderTV are going to host a two day event in which Evil Geniuses, Cloud9, Natus Vincere and Virtus.pro will compete for $15,000. It will be a single elimination bracket with best-of-three semi-finals and a best-of-five finals to finish it off. Russian coverage will be provided by StarLadderTV, whereas English coverage will be provided by joinDota.

It will be the first tournament showing for the likes of Evil Geniuses, Cloud9 and Natus Vincere, whereas Virtus.pro has already played in the i-League qualifiers and successfully secured a spot for the LAN finals. It is confirmed that Evil Geniuses will play with Clinton 'Fear' Loomis, but an official statement from Evil Geniuses regarding the roster situation has yet to be given. It is also to be expected that Natus Vincere will play with their new roster during that tournament.

The tournament will start on August 25th, with Na'Vi facing off against Virtus.pro at 18.00 CET, followed by Cloud9 battling against Evil Geniuses, scheduled for 21.00 CET. The finals will start on the following day at 18.00 CET.
