NewBee pulls the full hat trick and moves on to the winner bracket

Newbee continue their winning streak earlier today by defeating IG 2-1 and thus proceeding into the winner's bracket while sending iG into the losers bracket. The superior drafts and teamfight from Newbee secure two wins over iG.

The final best-of-three series of Phase 3 featured two chinese giants facing off in three highly explosive and fast-paced matches with Newbee coming up on top by beating IG 2-1. With this victory, Newbee are able to join EG, VG, DK in the winner's bracket while sending iG into the lower's bracket.

During the first game, Newbee picked a highly teamfight oriented lineup using Spectre as their carry while iG chose a more greedy lineup by relying on the immense split-pushing power of Lone Druid and Tinker. However, Newbee gave no chance for iG to farm up their items and used Shadow Shaman's pushing power to place extreme pressure upon iG early on in the game. Although iG had Tidehunter to potentially turn the tides in iG's favor, Xiao8 was able to doom Luo in the start of every fight and toghther with Puck's spell damage Newbee were able to destroy iG in teamfights. iG managed to secure decent farm during the early game but Newbee's facerush lineup destroyed iG and iG were forced to GG out in 16 minutes with a score of 13 to 1.

Game two started off immediately in iG's favor as all they are able to farm decently in all three lanes. iG placed Ferrari_430 on Pugna against Tidehunter in the bottom lane while YYF is placed on Faceless Void in the middle lane against Mu's Invoker. Although Newbee were able to net small pickoffs around the map, Pugna was constantly able to place pressure on Newbee's towers along with Faith on the Shadow Shaman. iG's power, however, was in YYF on the Faceless Void with his well-placed Chronospheres. Similar to the first game, the Tidehunter was unable to let off a decent ravage due to the lockdown provided by the Vod. iG then forced through Newbee's lineup and took down all their towers quickly. Hao on the Luna was unable to fight against the farmed Faceless Void and thus Newbee was forced to gg out in the 28 minute mark.

In the third game, NewBee picked the Death Prophet + Faceless Void combo, something that was attempted by both Vici as well as Invictus Gaming at ESL One. Eventually they finished off the draft with a devastating team fight combo while iG went for a rather familiar control heavy and push oriented draft. NewBee denied Faith's jungle completely (he was playing Enigma) with wards while taking the tier one tower really quickly, giving them a lot of early advantage. Although, Invictus used the time well to farm up their key items and force a great fight upon NewBee. This game took a more even turn than the previous two, with the teams trading clashes.

After a bit back and forth, NewBee won a fight at the pit in a huge manner just after taking Roshan so they came into the clash with the Aegis advantage. Xiao8 landing a bad Chrono once again (his in-clash Chronos was not too good throughout the game), just locking the Razor who already used ultimate and BKB, hence Void lost health faster than Razor despite Razor not hitting. Poor Chronosphere or not, Newbee still won the fight due to the huge damage output of Hao's Ember Spirit. Invictus started to fall apart after that, struggling against the heavier late game oriented NewBee. With Void picking up Refresher, the game was really out of hand. After one final clash in Invictus' base, the game ended and the winners were crowned.

NewBee did the unthinkable, battled through the entire bracket to eventually win it. They started off the day being close to elimination and ended it at the very top position, being shipped off to the winner bracket to face Vici Gaming. Invictus Gaming will find themselves in the lower bracket, going up against LGD.
