Na'Vi thrown into the Losers Bracket after 2-0 defeat against Newbee

With a score of 2-0, Newbee took down Natus Vincere in the second round of Phase III. They now have the chance to get a spot in the Winners Bracket of the Main Event against iG. The loser of the best-of-three match will go through the Losers Bracket.

In a best-of-three series, Newbee managed to defeat Na'Vi convincingly with a score of 2-0. Both teams have secured a sizeable chunk of change thus far ($500,000), but Newbee will have the opportunity to move on to face up against iG. For the first time in their history, Na'Vi will be starting the TI Main Event in the Losers bracket. They will be up against Cloud9, whom fell to DK yesterday. The defeated of the iG vs Newbee match will play against LGD.

A powerful mid and early game lineup from Newbee gave them an edge at the beginning of game one with heroes like Tidehunter, Earthshaker, Death Prophet, and Shadow Shaman. Na'Vi was unable to secure lane control due to Newbee's well-timed rotations. The Chinese deployed a heavy pushing arsenal, taking down most of Na'Vi's outer towers pretty fast. While a couple of successful Relocate ganks helped the Ukrainians reduce the gold and experience gap, a crucial mistake by Dendi and KuroKy who underestimated Newbee's offenses caused the destruction of the bottom set of barracks. From that point, Hao's Weaver was just too strong with Linken's Sphere and Desolator, making the demolition of the remaining buildings an easy task for his team.

In game two, Na'Vi took their chances with the infamous Tiny/Wisp duo while Newbee countered with a Templar Assassin pick. Newbee immediately took control of the game with key harassment on Tiny at middle lane by Enchantress creeps. With control over the mid lane, Newbee swiftly took over the rest of the map. At only 9 minutes in, the Chinese had already breached Na'Vi's base, managing to teamwipe them with minimal losses and a score of 12-2. A desperation push by the Ukrainians did not make much difference, as Newbee continued to tighten the noose by taking out towers one by one. Valiantly fighting a losing battle, Puppey's boys were unable to hold Newbee off, with Mu's Godlike Templar Assassin enabling a high-ground assault 20 minutes in. Losing their entire hero roster once again inside their own base, Na'Vi was forced to call GG.
