Day 5 preview: Seeding for main event, One more elimination

With the group stages wrapped up TI continues into Phase Three, which will see the Lower Bracket and Winner's Bracket determined by a series of best of three matches. There will also be one more team eliminated from the competition determined by the loser of the first game of the day.

On Day 5, the teams that are in the bottom eight will battle their way through to try and take a place in the upper bracket for the main event, while EG and Vici Gaming look on comfortably from the top two spots. The first match will see wildcard winner Team Liquid face up against the tie break second place team LGD to see who will stay in The International 2014. This match is exceptionally important since winning or losing means a difference of roughly $450,000 as well as being part of the main event or not. The losing team lands at roughly $50,000 without getting a chance to play in Key Arena, whereas the winner is guaranteed at least $500,000.

The winner of that match up will face Cloud 9, dropping to the lower bracket. The losing team will not be eliminated as they will still secure a spot in the lower bracket at Key Arena. The winner between Cloud9 vs. TBD will proceed to face Team DK in round 3, where the winner will proceed to the winners bracket whilst the loser will start from the lower bracket at the main event.

The first match of the day will be very tense for both Team Liquid and LGD. Althought the rest of the matches played will be in the comfort of knowing they are going to the playoffs, it is crucial for the teams to try their hardest to stay out of the lower bracket. Going to the upper bracket means less games to get to the final, but also having the safety net of the Lower Bracket if they should lose.

The casters for the matches will be as follows:

Match A - TobiWan and Synderen
Match B - LD and Synderen
Match C - TobiWan and Luminous

Bet rares and keys on today's matches:
- 18.00 CEST -- LGD vs Liquid
~ 21.00 CEST -- (tbd) vs Cloud9
~ 00.00 CEST -- (tbd) vs Team DK
