Orange to reform: releases three players

Orange have just announced on their Facebook page that they will be reforming their team after their poor performance at WPC-ACE and the TI4 SEA Qualifiers. The core duo of Litt Binn 'WinteR' Chan and Raymond 'Sharky' Wong will stay on, while the other three members have been released. The team will be reformed post-TI4.

Orange is a team that has struggled over the past year - after getting third place at last year's The International, their players were poached to Team DK and Titan, and their consequent rebuilding efforts have not been up to par. Having recruited the former core of MUFC following their disbandment after TI3, they rebuild their squad with WinteR and Sharky at its centre, adding another Malaysian and two Singaporeans - Adrian 'Ysaera' Hong, Clement 'InsidiousC' Tan, and Chi Suum 'SXOCXS' Pun.

However, the team has not been able to challenge for top honours within the South East Asian scene, being continually overshadowed by Titan and in fierce competition with Arrow Gaming and Scythe Gaming. As it is, Orange failed to get through the tie breakers and a place in the SEA Qualifier playoffs, and came in last in the WPC-ACE group - clocking 3 draws and 8 losses over 11 matches. This poor run of performances is likely what convinced the management that a change was needed.

In the meantime, WinteR will be taking up a coaching position, while the futures of the other three members remain up in the air.
