The Summit Asian qualifier : NewBee reaches grand final, will face VG or DT

Through a 2-1 victory against DT.NGC, NewBee managed to secure their spot in the grand finals of The Summit Asian qualifiers. DT will have to go through the Lower Bracket final against ViCi Gaming, and the winner will be NewBee's opponent.

The upcoming tournament The Summit was announced back in March, and it is one of the several international competitions taking place in 2014. It features both an online and LAN phase, with the participants fighting over a $50,000 prize pool (with a crowd funding boost from the DotaTV ticket). The tournament includes three regional qualifiers for Europe, Asia and America, with the Asian and American qualifiers including two stages - the pre-qualifiers and the main qualifiers (for Europe it is just one stage).

Several significant matches for the Asian qualifiers of The Summit took place today, May 6th. With Titan being eliminated in the previous round, only Chinese teams remain in the race for Los Angeles. For the Upper bracket, DT.NGC and NewBee crossed their swords in the best-of-three Winners Bracket final, with NewBee emerging victorious with a narrow 2-1 to claim the first Grand Final spot. Falling in the pit of the Lower Bracket, DT will have to face ViCi Gaming, the team that managed to defeat both iG and LGD today in their respective best-of-three matches. The match will take place on May 7th, at 15:00 and will decide the second finalist. The victor of the best-of-five grand final will qualify for the LAN finals in June.
