The American qualifiers for ESL One 2014 started today, with two best-of-three matches being played in Round One. With their 2-0 victories, Union Gaming and Team Liquid have already reached Round Two, and they will be joined by two more teams tomorrow.
The ESL One LAN finals are fast approaching, and eight of the strongest teams in the world will travel to Frankfurt, Germany to battle for the massive $150,000. the ESL organization gave the chance to all DotA teams, amateur and professional, to join Na'Vi and Alliance in the tournament finals, with extensive regional qualifiers for the East and West.
The first day of the American ESL One qualifiers has just concluded, and four out of the eight participants played their best-of-three matches of the single-elimination bracket. The Peruvian squad Union Gaming and Team Liquid from United States are the first teams to qualify for the second round, through their victories against eHug and TOP5 respectively. The match between uG and eHug was heavily delayed due to the 6.81 hotfix patch release.
The qualifier matches are scheduled to continue on May 1st, with Evil Geniuses taking on the underdogs Vas'Avi at 23:00 CEST. North American Rejects will be playing their sixth recorded professional match against Revenge eSports at 2:00 CEST. The two best-of-three matches will determine the remaining two squads that will be moving to the next round of the qualifiers, the semi-finals. Liquid and uG will face each other on Saturday 3rd, 21:00 CEST, while the other semi-final will take place on Friday May 2nd at 18:00 CEST. The final battle of the qualifiers is scheduled for Sunday, May 4th, at 19:00 CEST. The victor of the BO5 clash will earn the precious American spot in Frankfurt Finals.
