Gamefy announces WVW National Esports Professional League

Gamefy has started an open Dota 2 competition known as the WVW National Esports Professional League which begins today at 07:30 CEST.

Rebekah Shijiazhuang Culture Media Co. Ltd., the company behind the National Esports Professional League, has created the open Dota 2 tournament to provide the Chinese teams with ample practise oppurtunities. The qualifiers for WVW league began on April 01, 2014 and has already run it's course, resulting in the final bracket.

8 teams were invited to the main bracket, whilst the other 8 teams in the 16 team bracket arrived through the open qualifiers. The tournament will follow a single elimination best-of-one format up and until the quaterfinals, after which a best-of-three format will be followed.

From ACE-Alliance:
To have greater opportunities for teams in China to practice, ACE alliance has consulted with the WPC organisers as well as WVW organiser. The WPC organisers will tweak their schedule, so as to let teams participating in the WPC League to also attend the WVW tournament. We will release the schedule for that soon. DK will not be participating in the April WVW tournament because of an incomplete roster, but will take part in future competitions


The online competition will boast a hefty prizepool of RMB 61,000 (~$ 9,855) where the winning team will walk away with a big chunk of the prizemoney. None of the participating teams will walk away empty handed as every team will take home a guranteed chunk of the prizemoney.

The tournament will run over a period of two weeks where we will be able to witness constant Chinese clashes. The next edition of the competition will have a LAN playoff on the CCG stage, with a RMB 100,000 as the grand prize.

1st: RMB 34,000
2nd: RMB 8,000
3/4th: RMB 2,500
5-8th: RMB 1,500
9-16th: RMB 1,000
