Esports Champions League (ECL) recently unveiled their plans on hosting an online tournament gracing the Chinese scene.
Arguably one of the premier gaming organisers in China, ECL will be hosting their first online tournament in the year 2014. The tournament is supposed to go on for a duration of two months, wherein 12 Chinese teams will be seen competing for a grandular sum of 100,000 RMB (~$16,200).
Scheduled to go live tomorrow on March 26, 2014, the online event will be run until May 29, 2014. Although, the exact tournament structure has not been revealed, it is known, that the participating teams will be divided into two groups wherein they will face other teams in a best-of-one round-robin format up and until the play-offs.
The previous iteration of this tournament was held under the name of RedBull ECL in 2013 where we witnessed Invictus Gaming triumphing over Team DK, before the former was hit with another roster shuffle. The list of participating teams can be seen in the table below:
