The ESP Shock Therapy cup has officially ended with S A D B O Y S clinching a landslide victory over Team Empire in a best-of-five grand finals. S A D B O Y S will recieve the bulk of the price pool with $7,000 USD while Empire wins $2,000 and Speed Gaming walks away with $1,000.
Clinton 'Fear' Loomis and co. displayed signs of dominance right from the beginning of the tournament. They managed to defeat Rox.KIS, Speed Gaming and Team Liquid to advance into the finals through the winners bracket, without dropping a single game during the entire event.
On the other hand, Team Empire had a bit of a shaky start as they were thrown into the lower bracket by Team Liquid in round two. However, they bounced back by defeating Fnatic and Speed Gaming before facing off Team Liquid in the lower bracket finals, over whom they secured a convincing victory and proceeded into the grand finals to face SADBOYS.
SADBOYS entered the best-of-five grand finals with one game advantage, wherein they dismantled Team Empire in the next two games and ended up winning the tournament with a clean score of 3:0, thereby keeping their undefeated streak intact.
