Hyhy: 'Me joining Scythe is not true'

On January 21st, we announced the formation of a new Singaporean powerhouse (Scythe) led by formerly superstar Benedict 'hyhy' Lim but a Facebook update posted minutes ago on Lim's old fanpage stated that it is not true.

"Just to set the record straight, i am only playing dota leisurely now, all news of my forming with the new scythe is not true," Lim affirmed that he is not returning to the competitive scene.

Lim also said he wished the writers from various Dota 2 media outlets would have approached him to confirm the news before announcing it. While we did not specifically asked Lim if he is indeed returning, we previously received confirmation from several Scythe members and the team manager that Lim has agreed to be a part of the new team.

We reached Scythe's manager Bryan 'Jupi' Koay to clarify the situation but Koay was as surprised as we were upon seeing the status update. Koay told us, and more or less the community, to be patient while they solve it internally. However, Koay did confirm that the post on the old MYM.hyhy page is made by Lim.

"He may have changed his mind," Koay ended the conversation.

We also reached out to Lim for an interview yesterday but he did not respond. Stay tuned to GosuGamers for more updates.
